Call for Papers – PhD Forum

Call for PhD Forum Submissions

Following the success of previous years, MDM 2022 will host a Ph.D. Forum (Doctoral Colloquium) on Mobile Data Management. The Forum aims at providing Ph.D. students and recent Ph.D. graduates with an opportunity to present their dissertation research, recently accomplished or still ongoing, in all areas of mobile data management. The venue also offers an excellent opportunity for Ph.D. students to network with other junior and senior researchers directly, exchange ideas, receive constructive feedback, guidance, as well as learn about emerging problems tackled by the community. An interactive mentoring panel, with panelists from both industry and academia, is also planned with the aim of preparing Ph.D. students and recent graduates for their future career and professional life.

Ph.D. Forum Format

In particular, the forum will be organized as a regular session of MDM 2022 attended by a wide range audience, including experts in mobile data management from industry, academia, and government. During the Forum, each presenter will have a brief presentation while the senior members of the community will provide constructive technical comments. Best presentation awards will be given to the most innovative ideas/efforts presented at the Forum.

 Submission Guidelines

We encourage submissions from students who are currently enrolled in doctoral programs and graduates who completed their Ph.D. dissertations after July 2021. Submissions should be single-authored, while contributions of advisors and co-authors can be acknowledged in the abstract.

The page limit is three pages including references. A peer-review process will ensure quality and relevance of the proposed manuscript. In case of acceptance, the length of the camera-ready version will also be limited to three pages. The accepted submissions will appear in the proceedings of MDM 2022.

All submissions need to follow IEEE Computer Society Proceedings Manuscript Formatting Guidelines. See the templates here.

Please use the following URL for paper submissions: https://cmt3.research.microsoft.com/MDM2022/

The Review Process will be single-blind  (i.e., the reviewers are not identified).
